Chocoholics Unite At Emmanuel

Chocolate macarons, chocolate pyramids, chocolate fountains — those were all on the menu last year at Emmanuel Episcopal Church’s Chocolate Extravaganza, so what will be on the table this year? Confectioners have until Oct. 19 to sign up to donate for the November fundraiser.

The Nov. 8 Chocolate Extravaganza, now 13 years strong, raises funds for Family Promise of Hawaii and church activities through ticket sales to the allyou-can-eat chocolate buffet.

But that aforementioned buffet relies on community donations to keep the tables laden. Those interested in preparing dishes or in donating funds are asked to commit by Sunday. Download a form from emmanuelkailua.com, and mail it to the church at 780 Keolu Drive, Kailua, HI 96734, or email it to office@emmanuelkailua.com. For questions or business donor contracts, call Carolyn at 384-3207 or Jane at 223-1376.

Donors so far include Big City Diner, Buzz’s Lanikai, Cinnamon’s Restaurant, Round Table Pizza Kailua and many more. Organizers also seek volunteers to work at and promote the chocolate feast, as well as silent auction items.

Tickets to attend the event, which runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m., can be purchased for the presale price of $25 via mail (postmarked by Nov. 3), at 262-4548 or at emmanuelkailua.com. Tickets at the door cost $30. (This year’s batch of VIP tickets already are sold out.)
