Chamber Music Series At New College Libary

The 32nd Chamber Music Hawaii concert series for 2013-2014 will be heading West for three of its performances – in the new library on the UH West Oahu campus.

According to CMH spokesman Jonathan Parrish, the music should “resonate in the beautiful library, providing an unusually sonorous library experience.”

The West Oahu concerts are listed below. Other monthly venues are Paliku Theatre at Windward Community College in Kaneohe and Doris Duke Theatre in Honolulu. For single and season tickets, call 489-5038. Students are admitted free with valid identification.

* Oct. 22, 7 p.m.: Galliard String Quartet featuring works by Felix Mendelssohn, Ludwig van Beethoven and Dmitri Shostakovich.

* Jan. 21, 7 p.m.: Spring Wind Quintet featuring music by Franz Danzi, Paul Hindemith, Daniel Baldwin and J.S. Bach/Schweitzer.

* March 11, 7 p.m.: Galliard String Quartet & Friends, with music by Johannes Brahms and Franz Schubert.
