Caregivers To Meet In Kaneohe

A conference for caregivers – both lay and professional – is planned for March 14 at the Koolau Ballrooms and Conference Center on the theme “Caregiving and Grief … Awakening Heart and Soul.”

Health care workers, social workers, counselors and chaplains, as well as care-givers and lay persons, are welcome to attend.

Events will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at this third grief conference and will feature three renowned speakers:

Kumu Ramsay R. Taum, 2014 Distinguished Peacemaker for Peace Day Hawaii; former Oahu teacher, author and lecturer Frances Kakugawa; and trainer and consultant Ben Wolfe. Topics will include the transformative possibilities of grief, supporting those dealing with loss, wisdom from “dark emotions,” and embracing the dignity and humanity in giving and receiving care.

Registration costs $130 online or $150 mail-in. For more information, call 547-8129 or visit stfrancishawaii.org.
