Thanks to Servco Auto Leeward Chevrolet, Hawaii Rush Soccer Club now has extra funds and equipment.

The Waipahu-based car dealer donated 2,000 fundraiser tickets, a $200 American Express gift card and $500 to Rush Soccer Club late last month.

The tickets will provide owners with a chance to win a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze or Equinox, or a home entertainment package. Donated sports equipment includes mesh equipment bags, cones, scrimmage vests, goals and practice shirts.

These donations are part of national effort called the Chevy Youth Soccer Program. Servco Auto Leeward general manager Keith Nakamura presented the gifts to Adrian Hoxha, technical director of Hawaii Rush, at the Hawaii Thanksgiving Tournament held Nov. 23 at Waipio Soccer Complex.

The soccer club is a nonprofit organization based in Pearl City, comprised of 600 players. It strives to provide opportunities for player development both on and off the field. The Hawaii chapter is part of a national organization that spans 25 states.
