Campbell Ranks Second In Fitness, Spirit

The 2013 High School Fitness Challenge gave area schools the chance to show off their physical fitness and school spirit last month at Aloha Stadium.

Competing against 19 other high schools from around Oahu in a series of group obstacles and games, Campbell High School students earned second place overall, coming in behind McKinley High.

West Oahu students really stood out when it came to school spirit, with Kapolei High School taking first place for the School Spirit Award, while Campbell High and Nanakuli High earned second and third place, respectively.

The High School Fitness Challenge provides a weekend of fun activities designed to build teamwork, while promoting fitness, school spirit and school pride. The event is sponsored by the local business, Kalaeloa Partners. The first-, second- and third-place teams won $1,000, $750 and $500.

Other participating area high schools included Aiea, Pearl City, Waianae and Waipahu. Each participating school received $200.
