Business Leaders On The Move In Hawaii

Timothy StraussTimothy Strauss has been appointed managing director of cargo for Hawaiian Airlines. Strauss brings more than 25 years of cargo experience to Hawaiian, having worked in both the airline and freight forwarding communities. Strauss began his career with Emery Worldwide in 1987 (now UPS Supply Chain Logistics), where he worked his way up from cargo handler to vice president of transportation and logistics.
Ramon "Ray" RuizRamon “Ray” Ruiz has joined Servco Home and Appliance Distribution as warehouse manager. Ruiz is now responsible for receiving, shipping and delivery of merchandise, as well as maintenance of the warehouse facility and its vehicles and other equipment. Ruiz is veteran of the U.S. Air Force with 24 years of honorable and distinguished service. Most recently, he was stationed at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam as the Pacific Air Forces command center console operations manager. He previously held Air Force command post management positions including superintendent, security manager and systems manager.
Monica SalterMonica Salter has joined the board of directors for Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation. Salter, a senior account manager at Bennet Group Strategic Communications, has volunteered with Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation since 2008. She will continue to provide public relations assistance and be a member of the foundation’s fundraising committee – bringing awareness and funds to the cause. This year, Salter is co-chairing the organization’s signature fundraiser June 23 at Murphy’s Bar & Grill. This year’s event is named “All you Need is Love.”
Shannon OkinakaShannon Okinaka has been appointed to the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii’s board of directors. Okinaka is vice president/controller at Hawaiian Airlines. She has been with the company since 2005 and previously served as a senior director.
