Business Expo Looking At New Health Care Act

Representing business interests from Laie to Wahiawa, North Shore Chamber of Commerce will sponsor its 2013 Business Expo from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. May 10 on the theme “Prepare Today, Succeed Tomorrow.”

Events will be held in the Kuilima Ballroom at Turtle Bay Resort, with a host of seminars, a health care panel, trade show and networking with more than 150 local business owners and customers.

Registration fee is $90.67 for non-members and $74.84 for members, through May 3. The fee includes continental breakfast, lunch and cocktail reception. To sign up and for more details, call 637-4558 or visit gonorthshore.org.

The expo features an expert panel on the Affordable Care Act, moderated by Gil Riviere. Tackling the topic “The New Healthcare Law and What It Will Mean to You” will be Tom Matsuda of the governor’s office, Rose Hughes of Hawaii Health Connector, Tony Saguibo of HMSA, Matt Delaney of Hawaii Human Resources and Dr. Christopher Flanders of Hawaii Medical Association.

Guests also can choose to attend up to eight workshops on marketing, social media, food safety, tax changes, OSHA safety, planning, honeybee health and more. A trade show will showcase local products and services.

The public is welcome to attend the expo, which is co-sponsored by Turtle Bay Resort, Hawaii Human Resources, Kamehameha Schools, First Hawaiian Bank, North Shore News, American Savings and Barefoot Wine & Bubbly.
