Affiliated Construction LLC is a block and stone masonry contractor that started in 2005. We’ve been in business for 17 years and grown to 125 employees, making us the largest contractor in this field.

We started the business to improve the masonry industry in Hawai‘i based on what we learned from our fathers and uncles.

We wanted to provide a better product to the client with the highest level of professionalism in which all work is guaranteed. Our mission was to innovate the trade and create a healthy, positive environment for the staff.

The name of the company stems from the mere fact that the partners and initial crew all had an affiliation within the industry. As they were all affiliated, the timing was right to create the company.

We consider ourselves to be a family-oriented business that works with a passionate heart toward our employees, one that focuses on training, mentoring and encouraging a pure desire to be masters at this trade.

Kekoa Kamuela Namohala, our bricklayer, just won the Western Region Contest for apprentice masons and is headed to the national competition in September. It’s the first time in the history of our union that Hawai‘i has won the title.

Kekoa had a challenging life before working for Affiliated, as he struggled with three jobs and a newborn daughter. Our philosophy is when someone needs a helping hand, we will embrace him, and he will then excel and give back to society. Kekoa is a true example.

We are very mindful of the environment and delicate ecosystem. Many do not realize that block and stone — work material — is considered one of the highest green products in construction, as it is 90% native to the island. It can be reused in the same form and be recycled, unlike steel and fiberglass.

We recently won a Project of the Year from the Masonry Institute of Hawai‘i for the Honolulu Consolidated Rental Car Facility at the airport. It was a gigantic task that we are proud of.
