Biz Workshops At FilCom Center

Waipahu’s FilCom Center begins a series of free business workshops Oct. 15, featuring CPA Keith Ogata, who also serves on Island Pacific Academy’s board of directors.

Ogata will discuss “Buying and Selling and Franchising.”

Created in partnership with SCORE, the Magnegosyo Entrepreneurship Workshops meet from 6 to 8 pm. for five sessions on the third Tuesday of each month (except December), and the public is invited to register by calling 680-0451 or 547-2700.

Here is a rundown of the additional classes:

* Nov. 12: Business consultant Raymond Riss will share his knowledge on helping companies maximize sales growth and profitability in “Marketing and Sales.”

* Jan 21: SCORE counselor Dennis Bunda will guide participants through planning, management and finances of nonprofit administration in “How to Launch Your Own Nonprofit Organization in Hawaii.”

* Feb. 18: Private consultant Claus Prufer will share his expertise in “Government Contracting.”

* March 18: With a background in business, tax and financial consulting, Global Business Services representative John Schuyler will speak about “Accounting and Bookkeeping Basics.”

Each session will take place in the FilCom Tech Center. Registration is free.
