Benefit Brings Top Chefs To The Pearl

Leeward Community College hosts an evening of good food from local farmers from 6 to 9 p.m. May 9 at The Pearl, the school’s four-time Ilima award-winning fine-dining restaurant.

Thirteen restaurants bring to the table specialty menu items for the annual fundraiser, which provides scholarships and edu- cational opportunities for Leeward CC’s culinary students.

Participating guest chefs include Alan Wong (Alan Wong’s), Roy Yamaguchi and Darryl Shinogi (Roy’s Ko Olina), DK Kodama (Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar), Dean Okimoto (‘Nalo Farms), Jeff Wind and Ron Villoria (Aulani: A Disney Resort & Spa), Troy Terorotua (REAL a gastropub), Hideaki Miyoshi (Tokkuri Tei), Ronnie Nasuti (Tiki’s Grill & Bar), Rodney Uyehara (HASR Bistro), Mark Noguchi (Lunch Box), Wade and Michelle Ueoka (MW Restaurant), Andrew Le (The Pig & The Lady), and Ian Riseley and Leeward CC culinary arts students (The Pearl).

Guests also can look forward to live entertainment, a silent auction, and an array of beers, spirits, wines and specialty coffees and teas.
