The partnership of a church, a photographer and a beauty queen has evolved into Breakfast with Santa this Saturday at Bay View Golf Park.

The family event, with seatings at 8 and 10:30 a.m., will raise funds for breast cancer victim Patricia Needham, now in her second round of battle with the disease. Needham is the aunt of Kailua resident Pono Fernandez, who is the reigning Miss Hawaii Intercontinental. Windward Nazarene Church and School is providing the venue, and photographer Benton Marumoto, who has staged several Santa-themed events with Fernandez, is the third helping hand for the cause.

“We’ll have games and craft tables for the keiki for making luggage tags and greeting cards,” Fernandez said. Also planned are a photo booth with plenty of costume props, professional photos with Santa Claus by Robert Tolentino, and a buffet of fried rice, scrambled eggs, ham, fruit, toast, coffee and lemonade. “Plus the first 50 keiki ticket-holders get a free round of 18 holes on the mini-putt golf course,” she noted.

Tickets cost $25 for adults and $20 for children age 14 and younger. To reserve seats and for details, go to hawaiisantaclaus.com or call 589-7433.
