B.E.A.C.H Lecture Focuses On Plastics

Suzanne Frazer, co-founder of the Beach Environmental Awareness Campaign Hawaii (B.E.A.C.H.), will visit Kapolei Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 10 to speak about ways to improve the health of the ocean.

Her talk, “Protecting the Ocean and Our Health – Plastic Reduction Solutions,” will cover ways that everyone can make a difference, as well as discuss the interconnectivity among marine life, the ocean and ourselves. It will include information about chemicals in plastic – and the consequences they entail.

B.E.A.C.H. is an all-volunteer nonprofit that aims to raise awareness and bring solutions to the issue of marine debris. Frazer and co-founder Dean Otsuki recently received the Astrid and Donald Monson Community Action Award for their work.
