Donation Helps Center Raise The Roof

The Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation recently donated $50,000 to Kukui Center to help with refurbishments to its roof. RSI Roo~ ng & Building Supply also helped by providing materials at a discounted rate. Kukui Center houses seven agencies: Family Promise Hawai‘i, Hale Kipa, Hawai‘i Immigrant Justice Center, Hawai‘i Literacy, Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Hawai‘i, Kids Hurt Too Hawai‘i, and Leadership in Disabilities & Achievement of Hawai‘i. Eighth-grader Wins Essay Contest

Thomas Lynch, an eighth-grader at SEEQS (School for Examining Essential Questions of Sustainability), was presented with a Veterans of Foreign Wars certificate and a $400 check from VFW Department of Hawai‘i for winning first place in the state’s annual Patriot’s Pen essay contest. Keiki Give To HUGS Hawai‘i

Holy Family Catholic Academy and Early Learning Center recently presented HUGS Hawai‘i with a check for $1,100. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the school hosted a “Quarter Drive” for HUGS Hawai‘i. The effort was led by early learning center teacher Mary-Anne McMillan. First Insurance Honors 50+ Club Member

First Insurance Co. of Hawai‘i kicked off the new year celebrating a special milestone: associate Maggie Hayes (front, center) marked 50 years of service with the company. She began her career with the company on Jan. 11, 1971, as a file clerk. Today, she is a senior associate and plays a vital role in mailroom operations.
