DOE Has Free Keiki Meals

Beginning in early June, dozens of public schools across the island will serve free meals to children in the Seamless Summer Program supported by U.S. Department of Agriculture.

In Windward Oahu, the program includes nine area cafeterias offering breakfast and/or lunch, Monday through Friday, through July 17. They are Castle High, Kahuku High & Intermediate, and Laie, Hau‘ula, Kahaluu, Ben Parker, Kaneohe, Kailua (breakfast only) and Blanch Pope (lunch only) elementary schools. For specific hours and dates, call the individual schools.

Students do not need to be enrolled in the school to attend the meal program. However, it is funded to make sure children (age 18 and younger) continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.
