Kapolei Rotary Awards $41,000 Worth Of College Scholarships

As a part of its annual scholarship program, Kapolei Foundation along with Rotary Club of Kapolei recently awarded college funds ranging from $1,500 to $4,500 to nine area students.

Winners include Abigail Dahlin, Cheyenne Fields and Joshua Ragasa of Kapolei High School; Mariah Fernando and Taase Taofi of Waipahu High School; Kevin Bechayda, Renise La’a and Adriene Labrador of Nanakuli High School; and Julie Reed of Island Pacific Academy.

The scholarships were awarded to students at a breakfast banquet held at Bird of Paradise Restaurant at Hawaii Prince Golf Course.

The foundation raises money for the scholarships through a range of events throughout the year, such as the Pacific Rim Jazz Festival and the Oahu Brew Fest”

“We are extremely proud of the high-achieving students from our community and greatly appreciate the opportunity to support their success,” stated Larry Howard, president of Kapolei Foundation and a member of Rotary Club of Kapolei.
