Those who attend Pacific Buddhist Academy’s eighth annual Taiko Festival, “Secrets of the Golden Dragon,” at 4 p.m. Saturday at Leeward Community College will help support PBA and its taiko program – the only high school taiko program in the state.

The festival will feature performances by students from PBA, which requires all of its students to practice taiko for at least one year. The school puts a particular emphasis on the reflective qualities of the art – an aspect that is present in this festival. The event also will provide tips on how to live a happy and peaceful life.

Cost is $25 in advance for general admission (or $35 at the door) and $20 for seniors over 65 and students under 12. For more information and to purchase tickets, call

Pacific Buddhist Academy at 532-2649 or email liane.viloria@pbahi.org.
