Kahi Mohala Behavioral Health in Ewa Beach recently received $10,000 from First Hawaiian Bank Foundation and $10,000 from the James and Abigail Campbell Family Foundation to support the renovation and improvement of its Lehua Adult Unit.

These donations along with others received last year from various businesses and individuals have qualified Kahi Mohala for a $75,000 matching grant from Sutter Health.

To date, Kahi Mohala has raised more than $80,000, and additional fundraising efforts are still under way.

Kahi Mohala Behavioral Health provides specialized care and treatment for more than 1,500 patients annually. It treats children, adolescents and adults for depression, anxiety, eating disorders, suicidal ideation, post traumatic stress disorder, psychotic disorders, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Kahi Mohala aims to improve the quality of life for its patients.

The Lehua project will include a wide range of improvements, including better access to treatment program services, with added privacy and security for both patients and staff in a welcoming and calming environment within the 16bed unit.
