Sony Open Volunteers To Help Isle Charities

Golf seldom gets as green as it does each January, when the Sony Open rolls onto the Waialae Country Club course. Officials say it attracts more than 100 of the world’s top professional golfers, generates about $1 million for hundreds of island charities and gives Hawaii’s economy a boost of $100 million.

So, any volunteers out there? Friends of Hawaii Charities seeks as many at 1,700 helping hands, time and talent for the Jan. 7-13 event in gallery control, caddies, standard bearers, pro transportation, parking, admissions, ShotLink (statistical data) and more.
