Local Talents In The Descendants
Mid-Pacific Institute students Esther Kang and Matthew Reese attended a special HIFF morning screening of The Descendants for cast and crew at Regal Theaters Dole Cannery 18. Kang and Reese had their first chance to see their small speaking roles on the big screen. Both students shared their scenes with leading man George Clooney. Mid-Pacific’s upper school principal Grace Cruz also had a speaking role in a scene with Clooney. The film has been getting a lot of Oscar buzz in recent months. The 84th Academy Awards take place Feb. 26.
