Drawing on male performers from Saint Louis, Kaiser High and three other schools, the girls of Sacred Hearts Academy are ready to give the island a special treat: Disney’s

Alice in Wonderland.

The curtain goes up at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mamiya Theatre for the academy’s fall production, with additional shows at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Nov. 15 and 16, and 4 p.m. Sunday and Nov. 17.

Directed by Kyle Kakuno, the musical begins with Alice and her sister spending the day in a park. As most fans may recall, Alice chases a mysterious white rabbit and follows it down a hole, where things get “curiouser and curiouser.” Along the way, Alice (played by Kira Stone) meets a cast of extraordinary characters: Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat and the Queen of Hearts.

Tickets cost $20 and $15 (or $10 for the Nov. 7 preview night show). Visit sacredhearts.org/tickets or call Rodney Chang at 734-5058, ext. 232.
