North Shore Golf Tourney To Benefit Area Charities

Turtle Bay Resort established a foundation last year to benefit the North Shore, and it will host an inaugural charity golf tournament this Friday to support its mission.

The Turtle Bay Foundation is intended to “aggregate, enhance and oversee” the resort’s varied contributions to enrich the area through environmental, educational and cultural opportunities.

Past events, such as the North Shore Turkey Trot, Seafood Festival silent auction and Legends Charity Golf tournament, have helped to fund such projects as the Kahuku Library bookmobile, Kahuku High scholarships, job-shadowing and more. The resort also has assisted with the collection of school supplies, backpacks and holiday meals for hungry residents of Koolauloa and the North Shore.

This year’s golf tournament, dubbed the Inaugural Turtle Bay Foundation Golf Fundraiser, is set for 12:30 p.m. May 24 with a four-person scramble format on the resort’s Palmer Course.
