Maryknoll Donates Fabric Masks To Help Kūpuna, Nurses

Maryknoll School donated more than 2,500 handmade fabric masks to two local nonprofit organizations — Lanakila Pacific and Navian Hawai‘i — to help kūpuna and nurses stay protected against COVID-19. Together, families, alumni and community members of Maryknoll far exceeded their goal of 1,000 masks. In addition to the masks, hundreds of personal letters written by students to help kūpuna stay in good spirits were also donated to Lanakila Pacific as part of its Letters2OurKupuna project. Pictured are (from left) Tori Abe Carapelho, Navian Hawai‘i president and CEO; Father EJ Resinto, Sacred Heart Church and Maryknoll School pastor; Perry Martin, Maryknoll School president; and Rona Fukumoto, Lanakila Pacific president.
