Paliku Theatre manager, Tom Holowach has been riding a perfect storm of ticket frenzy for the theater’s blockbuster production of Les Miserables, which he calls a “catastrophic success.” But now he and three volunteers get to move 700 people off the waiting list for the handful of extended shows. Chris Kim (Castle 2011) joined the Army Reserve after being in the Hope Chapel Youth Ministry in Kaneohe. He won top honors for his unit in his technical engineer/surveyor/draftsman course at Fort Leonard Wood, and was “best fighter” in his unit’s grappling matches before deploying to Afghanistan and Kuwait in March 2013 for 13 months with a promotion to Specialist E-4 … Speaking of Castle, athletic director Laynie Sueyasu requests: The community is welcome weekdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. to enjoy the new all-weather track, but please kokua by wearing flat-soled shoes, only bringing water to drink, and don’t trash the grounds! …
