If you’re a gamer and have been curious about Star Wars: The Old Republic (PC platform) but don’t want spend any money on it, now is your chance. Last week the 15-level free trial became available and allows you to create characters in any class, essentially allowing you to complete the prologue and introduction of your characters’ tales.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is a story-driven, massively multiplayer online (MMO) game from EA, BioWare and LucasArts, delivering fully voiced storylines with personal choice and consequences. Set thousands of years before the classic Star Wars movies, you’re immersed in the game as you team up with friends online to fight in heroic battles reminiscent of the films, exploring a galaxy of vibrant planets and experiencing visceral Star Wars combat. You will be asked to join forces with either the Galactic Republic or Sith Empire and choose one of eight characters, including the Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Smuggler, Trooper, Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent.

Seasoned MMO gamers should note that this game isn’t typical, but more of a guided experience that features large levels with planets waiting to be explored.

Your interactions and decisions you make in the game affect the outcome of your game. For example, a ‘good’ decision may bring you closer to the light side of the Force, while a ‘bad’ decision may align you with the dark side. Therefore with this morality system if you stay neutral, not many rewards are received without taking the risk.

Download Star Wars: The Old Republic at starwarstheoldrepublic.com/trial to create your account, download the game and begin your free trial. There is no time limit for you to finish the 15 levels, but if you choose to continue the game you’ll have to pay $59.99 for the game, plus a $14.99 per month subscription fee. Plus, the character you created in the trial will be carried over into the full version of the game.
