On Wednesday, Ethel Takata wanted to get some Easter items and nori, which she saw was on sale at Longs Drugs, so she took a trip to the Ewa Town Center location.

As she made her purchase at 2:45 p.m., MidWeek‘s representative approached Ethel with a simple question. She answered correctly and instantly won a $250 Longs Drugs shopping spree.

“I come to Longs every week because they have reasonable prices and friendly salespeople,” said this week’s Mystery Shopper, who is retired from the Department of Transportation. “Also, it is a convenient location.”

Ethel was born and raised in Palama and graduated from Farrington High School. She and husband Arthur have four grown children, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In her free time, she enjoys going to the swap meet and crafting, especially weaving lei.

She also likes to read MidWeek.

“I like everything about MidWeek,” she said. “I love the Poll question, Pamela Young’s column, the Pa’ina pages and the food sections.”
