Castle Foundation Not Affected By Any Sales

Harold K.L. Castle Foundation officials recently reassured the public that “the foundation is here to stay … we’re not going anywhere,” and it will remain permanently at its Castle Junction headquarters.

Despite news circulating of the possible sale of Kane-ohe Ranch property, Mitch D’Olier and Terry George both stated June 20 that “the sale, if it happens, will have absolutely no impact on the nature of the foundation’s philanthropic activities. If anything, the sale of the property would only increase the foundation’s financial strength and allow it to contribute even more …”

D’Olier is president and CEO of the 50-year-old foundation, and George is its executive vice president and COO. The foundation awards millions in grants each year to groups supporting land, ocean, youth and community improvements, particularly for the Windward side.
