Alward Wilson Sr. Wins $250 Foodland Spree

On Monday, Alward Wilson Sr. went to Foodland in Kailua to get a poke bowl for his son and some food for himself, too. As he made his purchase at 4:40 p.m., MidWeek‘s representative approached Alward with a simple question. He answered correctly and instantly won a $250 Foodland shopping spree.

“I come here all the time – two to three times a week,” said this week’s Mystery Shopper, a retired roofer and welder. “The employees are friendly, they all call me Uncle, and they’re very helpful.”

Alward was born and raised in Papakolea and graduated from Saint Louis School in 1961. He lives in Kailua with wife Diana, and they have six grown children and 11 grandchildren. In his free time, Alward enjoys hot-rodding and building vintage cars. He also likes to read MidWeek

“It’s very informational,” he says. “It has everything in there, including things that make us laugh, such as the Weird News column.”
