A Kaneohe couple is behind UH Department of Theatre and Dance’s Kennedy main-stage production, La‘ieikawai, a new play in Hawaiian about a princess of that name. Assistant professor Tammy Haili‘opua Baker adapted the mo‘olelo for the stage and directs it, while kumu Chris Kaliko Baker, a Castle alum, is dramaturge and language coach. Kailua’s Joshua Ross is a now a senior investment associate with Ulupono, which supports Hawaii projects that impact food, clean energy and waste reduction.
