Golf Tournament Held ‘Fore’ A Good Windward Cause
Giving Hope Hawai‘i, a food pantry dedicated to supporting people in Windward O‘ahu, held its inaugural golf tournament fundraiser on May 5 at Kapolei Golf Club. Jerry Romano, chief operations officer of Windward Auto Group, recently founded the Kāne‘ohe-based nonprofit Giving Hope Hawai‘i. Tournament participants celebrated in full Cinco de Mayo-style with a day full of golf, activities, food and prizes at every hole. Giving Hope Hawai‘i partners with the Hawai‘i Foodbank to provide food for Windward residents. According to its organizers, in the first quarter of 2023, it fed 2,251 families a total of 97,802 pounds of food with a monetary value of $187,779.84.
