   The Lanikai Mortgage Players presents its spring production, a new world-pre- miere melodrama titled Bed- lam in the Badlands or The Lucky Penny. Upcoming performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. on May 12, 13, 19 and 20 at Lanikai’s Nelson and Lucille Shreve Theater at the corner of A‘alapapa and Kao‘olena drives. Tickets are $10 (plus $1.50 service charge).

In the plot of this melodra- ma, the failure of a general to return from the war prompts an unscrupulous land baron to scheme how to cheat the general’s daughter out of her father’s ranch. However, good prevails over evil and love tri- umphs in the end.
