an animal enthusiast. “So far, I’ ve only informed a few of my clients and my ‘mini-goat yoga’ clients, and some seemed very in- terested in joining.”
As a new mother with an active toddler, Bonnie Maxson Lee came up with a unique take on the “mom- my and me” class concept and is sharing it with her fellow “mommas.”
She explains that the mommy-and-me class- es, which are held at DLT Ranch’s “Da Zoo” in Waimānalo, offer an array of benefits including in- stilling a healthy routine; building strength; foster- ing support as a communi- ty; offering play time and development opportunities with one’s baby; provid- ing ample immune-boost- ing mental health care and metabolism-boosting opportunities; getting an infusion of vitamin D from being outdoors; and inter- acting with “tons of sweet
The mommy-and-me classes are offered Mon- days at 9 a.m., and limit- ed spots are available at a special introductory rate of $20 (including the mother and one child), plus $10 per additional keiki up to 5 years old. It’s a fun way to exercise and expe- rience the great outdoors with your child and skip the babysitter.”
As the owner of BMax- Fitness, Maxson Lee has worked as a personal train- er and yoga instructor since 2009. She was ranked as the No. 1 personal trainer in Tampa, Florida, before moving to Hawai‘i in 2018 with her husband, who’s a local resident, and mak- ing a home as an ‘ohana in Waimānalo.
“This is definitely a unique take on the normal mommy-and-me class- es currently available, as you have an amazing time in the great outdoors with all the adorable farm animals, including mini donkeys, horses, alpac- as, goats, sheep, pigs and more,” says Maxson Lee,
“We’re new parents to a 15-month-old, so I wanted to be able to work with my son and train mommas in
