ylee Amoroso Kawamoto of Kāne‘ohe was crowned Miss Ha- wai‘i’s Outstanding Teen 2022 in a
competition held May 1 at Hawai‘i Conven- tion Center.
Kylee performed a contemporary dance, titled Body Love, and captured the talent phase of the event. Her social impact initia- tive that she will be sharing with the commu- nity and others during her reigning year is “Heartbeat Special Needs Dance Program” and she emphasizes that she believes in standing up for women’s empowerment.
She will go on to compete at Miss Amer- ica’s Outstanding Teen this summer repre- senting the entire state.
“Honestly, this moment still feels so sur- real to me,” shares Kylee in the wake of the event. “I am very grateful to have amazing people that stood behind me through the start of this incredible journey.
“I would love to get more scholarship money, but not only that, I would love to share more about my social impact proj-
