Windward Flag Football Teams Battle For Championship
After lots of hard work by the teams and coaches this past season, the recent i9 Flag Football championship game took place at Kailua District Park. The battle of two undefeated teams ended up with the Steelers (top right) beating the Windward Warriors (bottom right). Steelers players include Isaac Echavaria, Joshua Flores, Isaiah Leanio-Kuamoo, Kala‘iomahealani Makanui, Javen Krischnan Gabriel Means, Zebadiah Meyer, Brenden Mohika, Gerred Preza, Colton Quitania and AJ Rooke. Coaches are Sheldon Makanui and Rodney Meyer. Warriors players are John Bryant III, Johnavan Bryant, Austin Kamakele, Micah Eskildson, Jacob Lim, Saxon Fujimoto, Shyden Coloma, Dean DiAntonis and Finnegan Graham. Warriors head coach is Joel Kamakele and assistant coaches are Kona and John Bryant. The name i9 Sports symbolizes nine approaches to youth sports: imaginative, innovative, interactive, integrity-driven, impassioned, inspirational, instructional, insightful and inclusive.
