When asked why he had chosen the particular shots for this competition, Mizuno explains, “They were inter- esting and different. I want to be out of the box and dif- ferent from everybody else.”
In looking at his photo- graphs, one could say that these are not just pictures, they are stories. Mizuno’s family members were there every step of the way.
Rippard has been an art teacher at Castle High since 2013. She’s ecstatic that Cole won awards for the Scholastic Art competition.
