Make Music Hawai‘i will feature performances from musicians of all stripes and genres.
“In the last week, we’ve gotten a nice bump,” she says.
“We have various artists that are participating. Some are well-known and some are backyard jammers who love music,” Dalire adds.
Dalire says there’ll be performances at Windward Mall’s center stage area as well as at Kūpuna Power Studio, where Brickwood Galleria and Friends will take the stage noon-3 p.m.
One special event that ex- emplifies the connection that Make Music Day is all about is its #mysongisyoursong project. This year, Hawai‘i and New York City artists will be swapping songs. Pairedmusicianswilllearn and play an original song by the other artist.

A call for artists was an- nounced late last month, and the community responded.
“The performances will be on at various times and lives- treamed on the national stage to share Hawaiʻi’s music with worldwide,” Dalire explains.

“I think it’s a good thing to really share music when you can with whomever you can. This concept allows anyone — they don’t have to be a professional artist — to participate. Hawai‘i is really
to play, and that fits right in with our spirit of aloha and how we like to share music as local people. I think
   it’s a win-win for ev- erybody.”
