Waimānalo Kanikapila Continues Annual Tradition
For the second year in a row, the pandemic forced Waimānalo Kanikapila to the virtual realm. That didn’t dampen spirits, though as, in years past, the entertainment started at 11 a.m. and continued on “to pau.” The all-star kanikapila celebrated the music and life of legendary slack key guitar master Cyril Pahinui. The annual event kicked off with a pule from Pat McGuire and ‘oli from Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, and featured live performances by the Keawe ‘Ohana, Kawika Kahiapo, Jerry Santos, Ho‘opi‘i ‘Ohana Serenaders, Danny Akaka, Jeff Au Hoy and the Cyrillettes, George Kuo, Jeff Peterson,
