Thanks to $50,000 dona- tion from Nareit Hawai‘i, U.S.VETS is able to fund key projects at Kama‘okū Kauhale, a Kalaeloa com- munity-centered housing project designed to offer per- manent placement for home- less individuals.

“Providing affordable housing solutions and re- sources that enable our homeless residents to re- build their lives is important to Hawai‘i’s future and one of our top priorities,” states Green. “Kama‘okū Kauhale is a prime example of what can be accomplished when we are committed and col- laborate to end homeless- ness.”
“The dignity and confi- dence that comes with living independently is important to all of us,” states Marrone. “U.S.VETS has done an in- credible job showing what is possible with Kama‘okū Kauhale in its first year and how the direction of peo- ple’s lives can be dramati- cally improved.”
There, residents, who in- clude but are not limited to veterans, receive ongoing supportive services, such as case management, housing and employment assistance, on-site medical care, rec- reational activities, therapy and more.
