    Earlier this summer, Ha- wai‘i Medical Service Association held its 17th annual HMSA Kaima- na Awards & Scholarship Program at Hawai‘i Conven- tion Center, where nine high schools and 15 college-bound students were recognized for their achievements and excel- lence in academics, athletics, community service, healthy activities and sportsman- ship. There, Waipahu High School’s Taylor Fukunaga was honored as one of five students in the O‘ahu Inter- scholastic Association catego- ry. “Every year, I’m amazed by the wonderful talent we have in our high school com- munities and, to me, this is one of the most meaningful awards out there because it celebrates the best and most well-rounded kids,” states HMSA president and CEO Dr.
