So far, she’s been grateful to receive such a positive response from the commu- nity. Currently, the No‘eau team has been stocking up for the holidays with items like customizable yearly wood calendars, Hawaiian made feather leis, handmade shell earrings, hand-sewn aloha shirts for men, watch- es, ‘ukulele, poi pounders, blankets, décor, food, cute keiki clothes, toys, books and even games.
Another important part of No‘eau is educating the community about Hawai- ian culture. In the past, it has held ‘ohe hair pick and earrings, or konane board game workshops. Born and raised on the Westside, Torres knew that it was meant to be when she received this opportunity to open up a store in Kapolei. Her vision was to create a space where residents could buy high-quality products inspired by Hawai‘i and is- land culture.
