his summer, Special Olympics Ha- wai‘i — which recently debuted a West Oʻahu location — is bring-
ing back its Paradise Plunge fundraiser. Launched last year as a socially distant rein- vention of the traditional Polar Plunge, this event allows participants to safely support local athletes by sharing a video or photo of themselves taking a dip in the ocean or per- forming any type of water activity — such as bodyboarding, surfing or diving into in a swimming pool. Registration is now open at give.classy.org/paradiseplunge2021.
“While we work toward a safe return to in-person sports, fundraisers like our Par- adise Plunge are more important than ever before, in order to allow us to continue to provide virtual and online programs for our athletes,” states Special Olympics Hawai‘i’s director of development Tracey Bender.
