eaturing food trucks that travel to Mililani Technology Park, Campbell Industrial Park, downtown Honolulu
and Kaimukī, Elena’s is known for its fine Filipino cuisine.
Meanwhile, Elena’s Restaurant’s eatery is located at 94-866 Moloalo St. No. D4A.
Theo and Elena Butuyan started the com- pany back in 1974 at the Old Nabarette Store in Waipahu. They retired in 2002 and their children, Mellissa Cedillo, her husband, Adrian, and her brother, Richard Butuyan, now own and operate the business.
Originally from Pangasinan, Philippines, the family immigrated to Hawaiʻi in 1969.
“My mom majored in home economics in the Philippines,” explains Mellissa. “When she came to the USA, she wanted to offer Filipino dishes to the people of Hawai‘i.
“We are a small family business providing traditional homestyle Ilocano Filipino food for four decades. Elena’s is the oldest Filipi- no restaurant on O‘ahu,” adds Mellissa.
