Koa Ridge’s 400-foot Mural Goes Up Along Ka Uka Boulevard
Anyone taking a drive through Waipi‘o Gentry will notice that the construction of master-planned commu- nity Koa Ridge is making headway, which is good news for area residents looking for- ward to shopping, dining, ac- tivities and entertainment all in one place.
The Koa Ridge mural comprises several sections that starts with Hawaiian greeting E Ola Koa and in- corporates Ho‘ala Trail with the Koa Ridge tagline “Live | Grow | Thrive,” as well as Ching’s three panels that fea- ture hula, mauna and wai.
An added bonus as work is being done is a 400-foot mu- ral at the main entrance off Ka Uka Boulevard featuring the paintings of local artist Kahi Ching.
“We’re grateful for Ka- hi’s partnership on this proj- ect and are excited that Koa Ridge residents were able to add their personal touch to help complete this beautiful mural,” adds Saunders.
“While Koa Ridge will be under active construction for the next several years, we wanted to add something special for its new residents and the surrounding commu- nity,” states Harry Saunders, president of Castle & Cooke Hawai‘i.
The mural celebrates life, growing a family, commu- nity and strength. To com- memorate its completion and the new beginning Koa Ridge will bring, homeown- ers stamped their hands or signed their names around the painted koa tree.
