• 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk or
coconut milk
• 1 1/2 cups ice
• 1 frozen banana
• 1/2 cup plant-based vanilla protein powder • 1 tbsp blue spirulina
Toppings:
• 1/2 cup pumpkin seed and flax granola • 1/4 cup blueberries
• 1/4 cup blackberries
• honey
Just as the lyrics to the song Blue Hawai‘i go, “dreams come true” in this heavenly Blue Ha- wai‘i Bowl.
When you are in the mood for something refresh- ing, sweet and healthy, try this treat loaded with various nutrients and antioxidants that come from blue-green algae otherwise known as spirulina. Spirulina was originally consumed by the ancient Aztecs and has become a popular supplement due to its natural vibrant color and its anti-inflammatory properties.
