Sipping On A Super Smoothie

In our household, smoothies are a staple. When experimenting with making smoothies, we sug- gest using a high-speed blender to get the best consistency. Having frozen fruits and leafy greens on hand is helpful, especially bananas since they create a creamy texture in any blended beverage. Bananas are a great food for athletes and active keiki as they provide easily digested carbs and essential electrolytes.
GOLDEN HOUR SMOOTHIE RECIPE
Ingredients:
• 1 cup coconut milk
• 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
• 1 cup ice
• 1 frozen banana
• 1/3 cup plant-based vanilla protein powder (optional)
• 1 tsp organic turmeric powder
• 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated or 1/2 tsp ginger powder • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
• 2 dates, peeled and pitted
Directions:
Place all ingredients into a high speed blender and mix until smooth.
Tip: Soak dates in warm water for a few minutes, then pit and peel before using in blender.
