Movies based on video games are earning a lot of buzz (see The Last of Us on HBO and Paramount’s Dungeon & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves). Apple TV’s Tetris, starring Taron
Egerton (who played Elton John in Rocketman), takes a different route. It’s a political
thriller based on a true story about securing the rights for the block puzzle game, which was developed in this country.
The live-action version of Lilo & Stitch found its stars. While it does feature notable names like Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover), who plays Jumba, the remake also welcomes newcomers Maia Kealoha and Kaipo Dudoit, who are Lilo and David, respectively. Meanwhile, Nani will be played by this Kaua‘i starlet who was featured in MidWeek last year.
Robert Downey Jr. has set his sights on remaking Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 psychological thriller Vertigo. But cinephiles will first see him in the $100-million Oppenheimer film, which hits theaters this July. The movie follows the life of physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer and his
contributions that led to the creation of the atomic bomb. It features Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Rami Malek and this actor who wrote and starred alongside Ben Affleck in Good Will
Hunting.
Akeelah and the Bee released in theaters 17 years ago this week. It stars Keke Palmer as an 11-year-old girl who has a knack for spelling and dreams of winning the National Spelling Bee. She receives support from her community as she goes on this journey, especially from her mentor, Dr. Larabee, who is played by this three-time Emmy Award and Tony Award winning actor, most known for his role as Morpheus in The Matrix franchise.

The art of storytelling can be traced back to 30,000 B.C., when cavemen used pigments to paint on cave walls. Throughout the years, storytelling has evolved in so many ways. Whether it’s gathering around a campfire or at the dinner table, be sure to share a good story with family or friends on this day.
Fill in the blank cells using numbers 1 to 9. Each number can appear only once in each row, column, and 3x3 block. Use logic and process of elimination to solve the puzzle. The difficulty level ranges from Bronze (easiest) to Silver to Gold (hardest). Answers are in the classifieds.
