SUPPLIES AND TOOLS:
• paints (tempera, acrylic or watercolor) in assorted colors
• dishwashing liquid, like Dawn
• water
• small bowls, one for each
color
• measuring spoons and cups
• spoon, for mixing
• drinking straws
• paper for painting, mixed
media or watercolor
• table covering, like a plastic tablecloth or old newspaper*
* Note: Have all your supplies, including the paper, ready before you start mixing. Cover the work surface because it can get a little messy.
In the small bowl, combine 2 table- spoons of paint, 2 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid and 1/4 cup of water. Mix well.
Place a straw in the paint/soap mix- ture. Blow into the mixture to create bubbles. Let the bubbles rise to the top of the bowl. Do not suck up any of the liquid through the straw.
To get the bubbles on the paper, touch the paper to the bubbles that are in the bowl.
Another option is to scoop some of the bubbles from the bowl and place onto the paper.
