 12 MIDWEEK JANUARY 18, 2023
Dear Darah,
We have been bless- ed by white coat an- gels. Our dentist, Dr. Mitchell Chun, called to check on my husband, Gary. Earlier that day, he noticed Gary was woo- zy as he left the dental chair. I told him Gary seemed normal and thanked him for the call.
Pirga’s staff called Gary to schedule his appointment for the following day. His wealth of experience and knowledge put us at ease, as he taught Gary exercises for recovery without medication.
I want to thank four loving hearts of gold I met at Food- land Farms at ‘Āina Haina on Oct. 7, 2022, when I locked my keys in the car. The first loving gold heart parked her car next to mine and gra- ciously called a towing truck company.
a chair and gently told me, “You may have a sit and just relax. We will be with you each step of the way to get your car key.”
On Tuesday morning, Gary experienced dizziness so we went to the Straub emergen- cy room, where Dr. Heather Enomoto’s diagnosis was vertigo. We picked up meds before heading home to call our primary care physician for a follow-up visit.
Friday was capped with physical therapist Scott Yasu- moto’s instructions, commu- nicated clearly and simply. Their spirits surely were heav- en-sent balm for his recovery.
Scott Yasumoto, a physi- cal therapist at the Straub outpatient rehabilitation department says, “It does feel nice to be recognized for providing a positive health care experience. I’m glad that we were able to provide the education and intervention that allowed Gary to return to his nor- mal activities.”
The second loving gold heart is Foodland Farms em- ployee Elana. She told me in a very crystal-clear tone of voice with a loving facial ex- pression, “Anytime you need help, come in and we are al- ways here to help.”
The fourth loving gold heart was the tow truck driv- er. By 11 a.m., the tow truck driver arrived and was able to open the front driver’s-side door through a slightly open window and out came my car keys.
About 20 minutes after leaving the ER, Dr. Jason
