4 MIDWEEK DECEMBER 21, 2022
            ’Twas The Night Before Surgery
’Twas the night before surgery,
Was diagnosed with cancer, stage IV, you know. I felt all hung up and hoped someone had cared, That this time around I just might be spared.
I lay there all nestled in my comfy home bed, While in my wife’s mind were visions she’d dread. We exhausted every angle of medical care,
The only thing left was hope and a prayer.
When I first learned about it, My mind was a clatter.
I knew in my heart,
This was a serious matter.
It was then that I realized life is too short, And there I was in front of God’s court. Wasn’t my first time, I’d been there before,
A decade ago, beat it and then closed the door.
But when things look their worst, You have to have hope.
We’re surrounded by love,
And in that you can cope.
With family! With friends! With coworkers and more! A great boss whom I work for, plus folks good to the core. They’ll all help prevent you from hitting that wall, Dash away, dash away, they won’t let you fall.
When things look their darkest, Is when you need strength.
Do whatever you need to,
Go to any length.
And on this unique anniversary, I say with the clearest of sight, Merry Christmas to all,
And always fight the good fight!

          TThe Turning Point
he winter solstice marks the first day of winter, the day when light begins to increase external- ly. Simultaneously, it also serves to illuminate
our deepest and most hidden thoughts internally. In nature, where it is winter, everything slows down in order to regenerate.
Now is also the symbolic winter of your year. Many of us have spent all year engaged in so much busyness that we may have never really taken the time to honor what’s going on within the deepest part of our heart. Slowing down at this time is necessary.
It’s time to start the process of winding down and making plans to set new rules of engagement with the people and situations that are draining you the most.
