Mike Sarmiento joins Purple Mai‘a Foundation as vice president of educational design. He will help shape the nonprofit’s programs, which centralize indigenous and Native Hawaiian values in contemporary tech culture. He was previously the community project manager for Kamehameha Schools and board president for Hoa ‘Āina o Mākaha, and is on the board of directors for DreamHouse ‘Ewa Beach Charter School.
Samantha Hodesder is elementary school principal at Island Pacific Academy. She was previously the academy’s elementary school guidance counselor and assistant principal. Prior to joining Island Pacific Academy, she was a lead counselor for the school district of Southern California, where she helped develop 504 processes and protocols as part of a crisis management and threat assessment team.
Michael Stohner is senior disaster program manager for the American Red Cross of Hawai‘i. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army Special Forces, where he conducted combat operations, supported humanitarian initiatives in West Africa, participated in counter-poaching operations in Central Africa and commanded a unit that worked with premier intelligence organizations.

Dr. Nataliya Holmes
Mimi Lind is executive director of Jewish Community Services. She is the first to take on this role at the nonprofit, which is dedicated to supporting the Jewish community in Hawai‘i. Lind is a licensed psychotherapist and clinical social worker who treats domestic violence, substance abuse and trauma. She was previously director of behavioral health at the Venice Family Clinic in California.
Paul Donahue has been appointed to Servco Pacific Inc.’s board of directors. He has more than 34 years of experience in finance and investing. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1988 and held various roles in investment banking and equity capital markets. He is a founding partner at Black Squirrel Partners, a growth equity and content acquisition platform affiliated with the rock band Metallica.
Dr. Nataliya Holmes joins Adventist Health Castle as a board-certified family medicine physician. She has a special interest in integrative medicine and a holistic approach to patient care. Holmes completed her residency at Hawai‘i Island Family Medicine and worked as a family physician providing comprehensive care to newborns, children, adults and the elderly.
