CHICKEN HEKKA
Ingredients:
• 2 pounds bone-in chicken thighs, cut into 2-3-inch pieces
• 1 package bean sprouts
• 10 green onions (scallions), cut into 1-inch lengths
• 1 onion, cut into half-moon slices • 1 medium carrot, julienned
• 1 pound shiitake mushrooms,
sliced
• 2 stalks celery, julienned
• 1/2 pound watercress, chopped
into 1-inch lengths
• 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 1/2 finger fresh ginger, peeled
and crushed
• 1 bundle (2 ounces) bean
thread noodles, cooked and
cut into 1-inch lengths
• 2 tablespoons cornstarch
• 1/2 cup soy sauce
• 1/2 cup vegetable oil
• 1 tablespoon fresh garlic, minced
• 2 tablespoons mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
• 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and minced
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon white pepper • 1 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 3/4 cup shoyu
• 1/4 cup sake
Directions:
Marinate the chicken for 30 minutes in the hekka marinade (*see directions at right). Meanwhile, mix bean sprouts, onions, carrots, mush- rooms, celery and watercress, and set aside.
Brown the chicken in 3 tablespoons
oil to which you have added crushed ginger. Add all the vegetables and stir-fry for 1 minute. Add the sake sauce and bean threads and simmer on medium heat for 5 minutes. Makes 4-6 servings.
*Directions for hekka marinade:
Dissolve the cornstarch in the soy sauce and mix with the remaining ingredients.
Ingredients for sake sauce:
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar • 1/2 cup shoyu
• 1/4 cup sake
Directions for sake sauce:
Blend all ingredients.

The job requires workers to be responsible for the operation and condition of company trucks and vans. Workers will be responsible for proper loading and unloading of product and a safe and timely delivery to various locations.
Successful applicants will:
• Be available Monday through Sunday working varied hours and shifts; approximately 15-19 hours per week
• Have clean driver’s abstract with current CDL
• Have a current PUC medical card
• Must be able to stand for long period of time,
lift, bend, stoop and twist with flexibility
• Able to lift and carry at least 40 pounds and
push and pull carts weighing up to 1100 pounds.
• Have previous truck driver experience
• Have forklift certification a plus
• Enjoy being part of a team work environment
